Do you want to become the type of yoga teacher that consistently has full classes, I’m talking mat to mat, with students approaching you at the end of your classes saying how meaningful and memorable it was for them? Of course you do… I have the tools to get you there.

Hint, hint: it’s not hours of class planning. No more struggling to find the perfect words, scrutinizing every sequence possibility, or stressing about finding a meaningful theme only to have 4 people show up…

Let me tell you a story about how I helped one of my clients find... the missing link.

A couple years back I was working with a yoga teacher who was so frustrated she wanted to quit altogether. She came to me defeated, saying she had done, “everything she was supposed to do.”

She had completed her 200 YTT (and even her 300-hour for crying out loud), got a teaching gig at the cute yoga studio near her house, and started teaching weekly classes, but she still felt underprepared and over anxious every time she went to teach or even sit down to plan a class.

She struggled with public speaking and wished there was a place to practice teaching without the pressure of performing for a public class. And mostly, she noticed that her class sizes were small… and staying small, which was super discouraging especially since she spends tons of time in preparation.

We knew that something needed to change...

Iron out the 3 elements

So we looked at three things: her cues, her sequences and her themes (or should I say, lack thereof...). We went back to the basics and reformulated her verbal cues, we completely reconstructed her paradigm on how to design dynamic sequences and finally, we dismantled her doubt in her ability to implement meaningful messages into her classes.

Once we had those three elements ironed out, we stepped back to take a good look into the way she was planning her classes. This was the missing link for her. The problem wasn’t her students, it was that she didn’t know how to class plan in a way that aligned everything around the most important piece, the theme.

Once she knew how to cohesively class plan around one central idea, her whole process became a lot more time efficient, effortless, and effective because her class sizes began to grow.

The first way, she considered the pieces of class individually. The result was chaotic, separated, and uninspired.

The second way, she considered the pieces of class cohesively. The result was connected, integrated and motivational.

Union vs. Separation.

And how appropriate, since yoga literally means union as you know.

She finally learned how to yoga the yoga, meaning align all of the class planning elements, from the words, to the poses, and even the music in her playlist, around a theme, which helped her to create cohesive experiences that touched her students on every level, making her stand out as a masterful teacher.

And voila!

Now she teaches yoga confidently and the students aren’t just coming, they’re staying and inviting their friends! Her classes are thriving, so the studio gave her a raise. She’s not only serving more people, but teaching in a way that is sustainable and lucrative.

She said “What I learned from you is what I thought I was going to get in YTT, but didn’t!”

The techniques I shared helped her overcome some of her biggest challenges… and can for you too.

I wanted mastery. This program is exactly what I was asking for.

Theming, cueing, and proper sequencing would be the areas I felt okay in. But definitely not at the level I was craving. I wanted mastery. This program is exactly what I was asking for. Everything is so clear and detailed. I feel so incredibly inspired! Yoga is a lifelong journey, dream and passion of mine to share with others! Now I feel like I’m beginning to enter the level of mastery I’ve been searching for. I can’t thank you enough!

Did you know that a 2016 Yoga Alliance & Yoga Journal study found that for every yoga teacher that is in a studio teaching a class, there are two more yoga enthusiasts in Yoga Teacher Training working towards a certification?

And that was six years ago…

Imagine how many more YTTs have exploded across the country. Places are pumping out teachers faster than Taylor Swift turns out Grammy’s.

Because they are selling a product, you have to wonder if they’re going for quantity over quality.

Are we giving certificates for attendance hours or level of competency?

If there’s a lot of yoga teachers nowadays, what makes you stand out above the crowd?

There’s a misperception that being a yoga teacher is all burning sage, avocado toast and Burning Man festivals. It’s not! Yoga is a lifestyle, not a job, but some of us teach yoga as our profession.

It can be tough to make a living, but it doesn’t have to be.

The average yoga teacher in the US starts at $30 an hour, making about $30,000/year. Yet the highest paid yoga teachers in the US can make anywhere between $50-$100+ an hour teaching in a studio, lifting that annual income to $60k to $100k+ a year.

That’s why you want to teach in a way that attracts students. Not just to impact your students' lives in a meaningful way, but also sustain you monetarily. Studios pay more to teachers who bring in more students, that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. Higher salary means more financial freedom to keep doing what you love.

Teaching yoga beyond the poses and cohesive class planning is the way you stand out. I can teach you how to create classes that are aligned around one nugget of wisdom that informs every word you say and sequence you do.

Disclaimer

This only works for teachers who are truly trying to teach the heart of yoga. While the poses discriminate, true yoga doesn’t. Yoga is universal, available to everybody. If the only reason you want to teach yoga is to have the most instagrammable classes, then this isn’t for you…

You can teach in a way that literally changes people’s lives, but only if you’re willing to do the work, practice, and deliver from a place of selfless service and love. If you are a yoga teacher whose sole desire is to help people, then keep reading…

Go from the chaos of not knowing where to start to the cohesion of expertly planning and delivering masterful classes every time.

My name is MaKenzie Fly.

I help yoga teachers like you take their teaching to the next level.

You have a gift.

I believe yoga teachers help the world more than they’re given credit for.

It’s said that stress is related to 99% of all diseases.

If stress is the number one killer in the world, then doctors are the last line of defense once the problem has progressed too far, while yoga teachers are the first line of defense before the dis-ease has even begun.

You help stretch people physically, mentally, emotionally, energetically, and spiritually. You help people face their fears, calm their nerves, and undo unconscious belief patterns.

Most importantly, you help prevent illness before it becomes fatal. Nothing could be more important!

The world needs more yoga teachers. And not just good ones, great ones. And quickly, because a lot of people are sick and tired of hurting.

There are people out there who need exactly what YOU have to give, in only the way that you can. But first, you need to learn how to consistently teach yoga beyond the poses.
